When Kelly Clarkson got her own talk show in 2019, it did not mean that the American Idol The days of the winner were over. She starts every episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show She sings karaoke covers (also known as Kellyoke) of trending songs that sound like gold coming from her lips. Now, these Kellyoke covers are finally being released, but fans have been quick to note how upset they are about where to get the songs.
One of the best aspects of The Kelly Clarkson Show is Kellyoke and gets a mini concert where your favorite songs are sung by the pop singer herself. Just when you thought Kellyoke covers could only be heard on the NBC series or via YouTube clips, Clarkson tweeted the new location for their covers:
You saw her on @KellyClarksonTV and now you can hear Kellyoke covers on the Kelly Clarkson Connection! Listen now on @SiriusXM: https://t.co/g0AzcTLsoN pic.twitter.com/ZOH4TTbWHj8 August 2024
There you have it. Kellyoke covers can now be heard on Kelly Clarkson’s new SiriusXM channel, Clarkson Connection. The “Breakaway” singer uses this radio platform, which launched in November 2023, to play favorite tracks from other musicians that have inspired her, as well as stories about her own best songs.
While the news of the release of Kellyoke should be music to the ears of SiriusXM subscribers, non-subscribers of the broadcast company are not exactly happy about it. @JaviHA92 had a better idea where the Kellyoke covers should be and posted:
I understand the need for best Kellyoke covers can be heard on Spotify. After all, a February Forbes According to the report, Spotify gained 10 million paying subscribers last quarter, bringing the total to 236 million. SiriusXM actually reported a loss of 94,000 radio subscribers. Although Spotify is the more popular streaming platform, it makes sense that their songs would end up on their own SiriusXM station.
However, fans are still angry because @thatssodavid_ posted about another obstacle, which is the location of the songs:
Accordingly SiriusXM Official Websitethe radio streaming service is only available in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada through SiriusXM Canada Inc. So that would mean that fans outside of those countries would miss out on remastered hits of potential songs like her Katy Perry cover of âWide Awakeâ, their version of Keith Urbanâs âSomebody Like Youâ. or their many Miley Cyrus cover.
@AlishaE51871958 He also reacted mixedly to the news of the release of Kellyoke and wrote:
This is absolutely fantastic news for SiriusXM fans who will be able to enjoy the sweet tones of Kelly Clarkson’s cover versions. It’s also nice that the Kellyokes finally have their own home after all these years of only existing on the talk show. Unfortunately, it also means that many Clarkson fans will be missing out if they don’t subscribe to her radio station.
After the âStrongerâ singer posted the same message on Instagram@marcoasxd commented on it with the same urgent request as X-user:
It’s a shame that a deal won’t be made where Clarkson Connection is also available on Spotify. After all, there are so many Spotify podcasts with millions of hits that can also benefit from the music streaming service. Instagram user @lisajefferysphotography had an obvious answer as to what non-SiriusXM subscribers should do to get their hands on these new songs:
The news that Kelly Clarkson’s Kellyoke covers are coming to SiriusXM may upset her fans, but at least subscribers to the satellite radio streaming service will have the opportunity to listen to these remastered covers, which is better than if they weren’t released at all.
More Kellyoke covers are expected to be part of the sixth season of The Kelly Clarkson Show when it premieres on the TV schedule 2024 sometime in autumn. Until then, you can watch the last episodes with a Peacock subscription.
