Summary

  • Survival mode in
    Fallout4
requires players to constantly search for clean water, but in Nuka-World it is scarce.
  • Most water sources in Nuka-World are radioactive and pose a risk to players.
  • The only source of purified water is in the Galactic Zone, where only two sinks produce fresh water.

Survival mode in Fallout4 introduces many new challenges to the game, including controlling hunger and thirst. Players must constantly search for clean water and food to maintain their powers and avoid starvation, which is even more difficult than in other survival games, as pretty much everything is radioactively contaminated. Finding clean resources, especially purified water, is a difficult task in the Commonwealth, and even more so in the Fallout4 DLC area, Nuka-World.

While players can build water pipes and purifiers in settlements they claim in the base game, Nuka-WorldThe amusement park, which is infested with robbers, offers no such possibility. This means Players must bring a large supply of purified water to the remote area or they collect all the bottles they find lying around. However, there is a source of clean water in the Nuka-World DLC that makes it much easier to quench your thirst.

Watery diversions in Nuka-World mislead players

Most of Nuka-World has irradiated water

Although there are many water sources in Nuka-World, almost all of them produce only “dirty” or contaminated water. If players drink this water, they will suffer radiation damage and risk contracting a disease that can cause massive debilitation until players find medicine. Every obvious water source in the abandoned amusement park, from puddles to pumps to the Nuka-Cola River, is contaminated in this way.

To add insult to injury, the DLC includes a water pump similar to the one in the base game that produces purified water. But it is just a decoration in Dry Rock Gulch and doesn’t actually work. In reality The only freshwater source in the DLC is located in another part of the parkone that many players will go through without noticing this resource.

A rough diamond can be found in the galactic zone

Nuka Worlds Galactic Zone in Fallout 4.

One of the park’s sub-areas, the Galactic Zone, is home to an attraction called Vault-Tec Among The Stars. Within the attraction is an employee-only room that contains two functional sinks, both of which produce fresh, pure water when activated. Players can drink directly from it or fill bottles with purified water and store them elsewhere in the park.

While these sinks are not located in Dry Rock Gulch, they are still a goldmine. Once players kill the enemies surrounding the room, it is an easily accessible station with an infinite water supply and a bed to take refuge in. And with the near-infinite amount of empty Nuka-Cola bottles in the DLC area, players will have no shortage of bottles to store purified water in. Knowing this location can make a Survival Mode playthrough in Fallout4 DLC much easier and better managed.
