“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” leads Luminate streaming ratings

“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” landed on Luminate’s weekly viewership rankings with 699.1 million minutes watched in its first full week on Netflix, making it by far the most-watched streaming original on both the film and television charts from August 2-8.

This came after a particularly quiet week of little streaming; between July 26 and August 1, Season 6 of “Love Island USA” ran with just 386.5 million minutes watched. And aside from a solid debut for “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” the summer lull continued this week, as “Love Island USA” stayed near the top of the charts, securing the number two spot with 365.9 million minutes watched in the second full week the season finale was available.

“Unsolved Mysteries” Season 4 was the third-biggest television series, debuting at 318.2 million minutes in its first full week, followed by “Mayor of Kingstown” Season 3, which saw an increase to 284.2 million viewers during that time period, including the release of the finale. That was followed by “Too Hot to Handle” Season 6 in fifth place with 210.7 million minutes watched and “Presumed Innocent” in sixth place with 210 million. The rest of the charts went to titles with fewer than 200 million minutes watched: “Love of My Life,” “Batman: Caped Crusader,” “Criminal Minds” and “Cobra Kai.”

On the movie charts, “Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie” – set in the SpongeBob universe – debuted with 325.9 million minutes watched, more than double the next most-watched title, “Find Me Falling,” with 148.1 million minutes watched in its third week. Both “Rebel Moon” films made it back into the charts after Netflix released director’s cuts that took third and fourth place.

“Descendants: The Ride of Red,” “Knox Goes Away,” “My Spy: The Eternal City,” “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” “Hillbilly Elegy,” and “A Family Affair” concluded the slow streaming week with fewer than 125 million minutes watched each.
