Welcome to the jungle: The set of the film starring Akshay Kumar was damaged by rain; director Ahmed Khan resumes shooting after reconstruction

Akshay Kumar will be returning to the popular Welcome franchise in the third installment. The official announcement of Welcome to the Jungle was made last year, 2023, and the shooting has been going on in full swing for the past few months. However, it was revealed that the shooting has hit a roadblock as the set of the multi-starrer comedy was damaged due to rain. Director Ahmed Khan revealed that the work will resume after the set is rebuilt.

In a recent update, it was revealed that the set of the upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle was partially damaged due to heavy rains in Mumbai. The makers had set up a huge set ahead of their marathon schedule in the first week of August 2024. The cast of 34 actors, including Akshay Kumar, was supposed to be seen in this schedule, which was also supposed to include a song shoot.

Although filming has been delayed, the crew is currently working hard to rebuild the magnificent set. In a statement, director Ahmed Khan commented on the situation and also announced his decision to resume filming as soon as the set is ready again.

He said, “It is unfortunate that a part of the set was damaged due to the heavy rains in Mumbai. For creative reasons, I have decided to start shooting as soon as the set is rebuilt. The crew is working tirelessly to rebuild the set and hopefully we can start shooting soon.”

The 2023 film’s announcement video featured the cast singing a cappella performances, giving a taste of the entertainment that audiences can expect.

Welcome to Jungle stars Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Lara Dutta, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, and more. The film is presented by Base Industries Group and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah.

Meanwhile, Akshay is gearing up for the release of his film Khel Khel Mein, which will hit the theatres on August 15.
