WAFB will broadcast the Saints’ first preseason game on Saturday evening

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (WAFB) – WAFB will broadcast the New Orleans Saints’ first preseason game of 2024 on Saturday night, August 10.

Pre-match coverage begins at 6:30 p.m., with the actual game expected to start at 7:00 p.m.

The Saints are on the road to face the Arizona Cardinals.

We won’t know whether Derek Carr will play against the Cardinals until shortly before kickoff, but the Saints’ starting quarterback wants to take a few snaps.

“Yeah, I think I would like that. I think just going out there and hearing Klint’s voice in the helmet, calling the plays and making the substitutions, I think that would just be good for our offense. In the preseason, it’s pretty basic stuff, pretty plain and simple. You don’t want to show anything, all that stuff,” said quarterback Derek Carr.

With or without Carr in the lineup, the Saints will give backup quarterbacks Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler plenty of plays. Right now, the battle for the spot behind Carr is fiercely contested. The three preseason games should answer that question.

New Orleans will have only six healthy wide receivers for the contest. Camp star Mason Tipton will not play after a hamstring injury. Samson Nacua will get the opportunity to shine in his place.
