Longhorns five-star WR target narrows final list to four schools

After signing a five-star recruit in Kaliq Lockett, the Longhorns hope another is on the way in WR Jamie Ffrench. On Friday, the talented wide receiver, who is in the class of 2025, announced his final list of four schools. His list includes Texas, LSU, Miami and Tennessee.

During his high school career, French has impressed scouts with his skills as he has accumulated many pass catches. During the 2023 season, he recorded a career-high 1,247 receiving yards on 62 pass catches. He also recorded 14 touchdowns. Entering his final season, French has 2,034 career receiving yards for Mandarin High School.

With 20 days to go before his deployment, Ffrench is a big fan of the Longhorns offense, which is an encouraging sign.

“That Sark staff, a little bit of the offense,” Ffrench told On3 in the spring. “Chris Jackson knows what he’s doing with the receivers, he’s been in the league for quite a while.”

If the Longhorns can sign the Jacksonville native, their 2025 class of wide receivers would be one of the best in the country. They specialize in training wide receivers, another trait that sets the program apart.

According to On3, Ffrench was the 23rd-ranked player nationally, the 5th-ranked wide receiver and the 4th-ranked player in Florida on Saturday. As the Longhorns prepare for their season opener, securing the services of Ffrench will be a top priority.
