Contra Costa County 2024 Candidate List

Contra Costa County 2024 Candidate List

The candidates for Contra Costa County’s November election are now more clear, with many filing deadlines set to expire Friday.

Several seats remain vacant for another week as incumbents have decided not to run for re-election for one reason or another. Some of the extended deadlines, until August 14 at 4:00 p.m., are:

  • Antioch City Council, District 2
  • Town Clerk of Antioch
  • Treasurer of the City of Antioch
  • Mayor of Brentwood
  • Brentwood City Council, District 3
  • Clayton City Council
  • Danville City Council
  • El Cerrito City Council
  • Hercules City Council
  • Lafayette City Council
  • Martinez City Council, District 2
  • Orinda City Council
  • Richmond City Council District 5
  • Mayor of San Ramon
  • San Ramon City Council, District 1
  • Director of the City of Discovery Bay

In other elections, such as in Martinez, it appears that Councilmember Satinder S. Malhi is unopposed and will automatically be re-elected without having to campaign. The same is true for Councilmembers Aaron Meadows and Anissa Williams of Oakley.

Here is a brief overview of the candidates who have submitted their documents and/or qualified – a final version will be published next week.
