Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly has spoken about her preparations for her return as Beth Dutton.

The actress will reprise her role as Beth in the second half of Yellowstone’s fifth and final season, with new episodes scheduled to air in November 2024.

Speaking to TVLine, Reilly was promoting her new indie coming-of-age film, Little Wing, when she was asked if she was taking on the new role to show audiences a different side of her talent.

Reilly explained: “I don’t really think that way, because look, there may be some people who have only seen me in Yellowstone, but I’ve been working as an actress for 30 years now.

“You just don’t want to get bored. You want to keep it fresh and work with different collaborators, actors and crew… I had just shot two films: A Haunting in Venice with Kenneth Branagh and Here, which comes out this fall, with Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis, and I thought, ‘I want to get as many different characters in as possible before I go back to Yellowstone.’

“(It’s a way) to keep it alive for myself so that when I go back to Yellowstone, I can strap Beth back on and it feels reinvigorated because I’ve moved on from it,” the star admitted.

This came after Reilly predicted a “beautiful and epic” second half of Yellowstone’s fifth and final season.

“(I) have no insight into what’s going to happen,” was her reservation. “We’re all committed to the storyteller’s vision and serving the story. Who knows what’s going to happen? As an actor, I find that exciting.”

Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 will air on Paramount Network in November 2024.
