Justin Bieber and Machine Gun Kelly paid tribute to the late rapper Chris King.

King, whose real name is Christopher Cheeks, was a former roommate of Bieber.

He died as a result of a shooting in Nashville on April 20. He was 32 years old.

Following the news of King’s death, Bieber posted a heartfelt tribute to his friend and former roommate on social media.

“I love you brother,” he wrote in an Instagram story. “This hurts. Please pray for his family. See you in heaven brother.”

King was shot and killed by three suspects during an armed robbery while accompanied by two friends between Hayes and Church Streets in Nashville.

Nashville Police confirmed the death: “Homicide detectives are aggressively and purposefully pursuing the shooting that occurred at 2:30 a.m. Saturday that left 32-year-old Christopher Cheeks dead and a 29-year-old man injured.”

Machine Gun Kelly also paid tribute to the late musician in the comments and wrote: “Chris was rare.”

King, the founder of the music label Snotty Nose Records, made a name for himself through collaborations with several rappers, including fellow artist Trippie Redd, who also paid tribute to him online.

“Original 1400 I love you until we meet again twin,” Trippie wrote.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without @whoischrisking. He introduced me to @elliotgrainge and @milothelight and always had the best energy. He had so many friends and this shows that I love you guys for supporting one of my best friends ever, my brother.”
