It feels like we’ve been talking about a landslide Chinese diving victory since the start of the Paris Olympics many moons ago, and now that day has finally arrived.

The men’s 10m platform will be the last golden domino to fall, marking two pretty important moments in the history of the Games. Not only will China become the first country to win in platform diving, but it will also overtake the United States in the category of most gold medals in the sport, reaching a nice round 50.

For China, clear victories are becoming a pattern in which Chinese athletes shine, and while Cao Yuan and Yang Hao jump into the deep end, the women’s table tennis team will look to make it five out of five in the final against Japan.

Victory in both events would bring China’s total gold medals at the Olympics to 35. And with further opportunities for success in boxing, synchronized swimming, canoeing, taekwondo, wrestling and modern pentathlon, the country can more than dream of leaving Paris at the top of the medal table.

Day 15 has flown by and we are once again here to bring you live coverage of all the Olympic Games in the French capital.
