MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) – George County School District athletic director Chris West was arrested Thursday morning on child pornography charges.

According to the George County Sheriff’s Office, the GCSO and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office executed a search warrant on West’s residence on Thursday.

West, 51, is accused of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

West is currently being held at the George County Regional Correctional Facility.

After an initial appearance before a George County Court judge, West was granted a $50,000 commercial bond on each charge, bringing the total commercial bonds to $100,000.

The investigation is being led by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
