The monthly PlayStation Plus games for September include…

Sony has announced the games coming to PlayStation Plus next month – including a Harry Potter title.

As usual, three games are available to all PlayStation Plus members: Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, Little Nightmares II and MLB The Show 24.

They will be available from September 3rd. And this is your reminder to get the August games before that date. They are LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights.

The big news for next month is that PlayStation Plus is releasing Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions on day one. We’ve seen these games a lot on Xbox Game Pass, but not so often on PlayStation Plus.

Here’s a closer look at the upcoming games.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Master will obviously not be as epic a game as Hogwarts Legacy. They play Quidditch, compete in the World Cup of Sports, and visit locations from the films.

As shown in the trailer released last month, you can play as one of the series’ famous characters or create your own. But we have no idea yet if this will be a nice distraction from all the big games coming out by the end of the year or a total flop.

It comes from Unbroken Studios, a developer without much of a history. It created Fractured Lands, a post-apocalyptic multiplayer vehicular combat game that was released in Early Access in 2018. However, it received mixed reviews and was removed from Steam in 2023.

Let’s hope Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions does better.

Little Nightmares II is a much more familiar quantity, a delightful puzzle platformer that received an impressive 82% score on Metacritic.

It was released in 2021. Despite its slightly cartoonish appearance, this game can really scare you – and the battles are tricky.

Little Nightmares II isn’t a tedious game, though, and according to How Long To Beat, you should be able to beat it in about six hours. It’s our top pick this month, as we don’t yet know how good the Harry Potter game is.

MLB The Show 24 is the final pick for PlayStation Plus’ monthly games in September. As a baseball title, it’s obviously more appealing to US gamers than UK players.

It’s a simulation-style game, so you’ll need to know a bit about baseball to get the most out of it, but it’s highly regarded by connoisseurs and has an 80% rating on Metacritic.
