Newport Historical Society and Potter League for Animals offer free professional wildlife photography in Newport on September 1

On Sunday, September 1st, Newport will host a “barktastic” event featuring free professional wildlife photography on the lawn of the Great Friends Meeting House.

All animals are invited to participate in the community event “Bark Ranger, Purrk Ranger” hosted by the Newport Historical Society and the Potter League for Animals. The event is free and professional photographer Jessica Pohl will take photos of pets for free.

Representatives from the Potter League will also be present at the event to raise awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

All pet owners who attend the event alone can still receive a free collar and scarf while supplies last. Anyone who signs the declaration of commitment and presents a photo of their pet can also receive a free collar and scarf.

The Bark Ranger, Purrk Ranger community event will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Great Friends Meeting House, 21 Farewell Street, Newport.

Professional animal photography available for free

On Sunday, September 1, animal lovers and pet owners are invited to Newport to attend a free community event hosted by Bark Ranger and Purrk Ranger on the lawn of the Great Friends Meeting House. All animals will be able to have their photo taken for free by local photographer Jessica Pohl.

This event is hosted by the Newport Historical Society and the Potter League for Animals. The free program is provided by the National Park Service (NPS) Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail. After being “sworn in” as honorary rangers by the NPS for adhering to important values ​​such as picking up animal waste, keeping animals on a leash, and respecting wildlife, animals will receive a collar and bandana free of charge while supplies last.
