Kelly Ripa reveals her habit affects bedtime with Mark Consuelos

Live Co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos — real-life spouses and proven, foot-massaging legends of morning TV hornyness — have spoken out about a nightly routine that’s ruining relationships around the world.

“You want to hear about the bedtime habit that’s ruining our relationship – and it’s not sex?” Ripa asked in the taped episode on Thursday just after 9 a.m. local time. “It’s called parallel scrolling, when we lie next to each other in bed and scroll in parallel.”

Ripa elaborated, noting that a larger study of other partners showed that the celebrity couple’s habit “reduces the chances of intimacy and affection” in the bedroom.

Nevertheless, Ripa admitted that she likes it when the couple displays non-committal behavior in bed.

“To me, that proves what you often accuse me of: If you click on something and the volume is all the way up and you don’t turn it down, you’re accusing me of that. Every time you do that, I get a little taller,” Ripa said, but Consuelos quipped, “You’re still 5’4, sweetheart.”

Consuelos then said he would have liked more eyes on her in that moment, pointing to a classic commercial “where the couples disagree about what happened and they throw the flag and go to the tape” to prove he was right all along.

Days after the unveiling on Live that she once jumped from a boat into the sea to communicate with wild dolphins, Ripa again referenced her time as a sea queen when she compared her own memory to that of a giant marine mammal.

“I’d like that better than you. Here’s the thing: I have a memory like an elephant, like an orca. Whales, you know, they talk about elephants remembering everything, but whales remember things their parents said,” Ripa said before mimicking underwater whale noises. “You have huge gaps. There are gaps in his memory. This afternoon I can ask, ‘Where were you?’ and he’ll say to me, ‘Uh, I, uh, let me get back to that.’ He has no idea where he went.”

Before moving on to a new topic, Consuelos said without hesitation that his brain was occupied with more important things: “I’m just going through mathematical equations here.”
