Faithful Jenn Tran‘s promise, The Bachelorette Season 21 was full of unexpected twists – and now also full of cliffhangers.
Jenn, 26, kicked off the Monday, August 26 episode of the ABC series with Devin Strader‘s date and the duo accepted host Jesse Palmer‘s invitation to stay in the fantasy suite. Free Jonathan Johnson had his one-on-one time with Jenn next and he also spent the night with the leading actress.
For the final fantasy suite, Jenn planned to tell the contestants Marcus Shoberg that she loved him. However, during their candid conversation, he admitted that he was “insecure” and that she “deserves someone who is sure of her.”
“I don’t know if I’m putting pressure on myself because this process has happened so quickly or because the end of the process is approaching so quickly,” Marcus said. “But it’s been hard for me to get to a point where I can confidently say I’m in love.”

Despite Marcus’ admission, Jenn isn’t afraid to share her true feelings. “There are a lot of different expressions for love and I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I’m in love with you and the feelings you make me feel,” Jenn said.
After Jenn dropped the L-word, Marcus cried and promised to “try as hard as I can” to overcome his fear of uncertainty. Jenn and Marcus decided to spend the night together and woke up the next morning in a better place.
While Jenn was on her overnight dates with Jonathon and Marcus, Devin began to get upset as he thought about how vulnerable he had been. Devin explained that he had told Jenn several times that he loved her – and not only had he not gotten a response, but there were other men involved.
“I have a lot of difficult thoughts. … I was really looking forward to my sleepover,” Devin told Jesse. “I was waiting to hear something this time to help me through this process. But the one big question I wanted to ask her – ‘Do you love me as much as I love you?’ – I never got to ask her. … I didn’t want to scare her with my true feelings about how bad I was feeling inside.”

When Jesse asked if Devin had received any kind of encouragement, the freight company owner said Jenn told him she saw a future with him but never used the L-word. Devin became emotional and explained that he hadn’t slept while thinking about their relationship.
“I need to feel love,” he said. “I don’t feel like I’m the one. … I feel like I’m ‘one of,’ and that hurts.”
The episode actually ended on a cliffhanger when Devin went to talk to Jenn and told the cameras that he might be leaving for good.
