Every week during The BacheloretteHost Jesse Palmer will answer a few questions about Jenn’s “journey” in search of “love.” Today, Jesse shares his thoughts via email about Devin’s surprise visit to Jenn’s hotel room, Sam M’s attempt to take responsibility, Men tell everything Reunion and Hakeem’s second encounter with a giant spider.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Devin was furious after his overnight date because Jenn didn’t say “I love you” back. His decision to show up at Jenn’s hotel room unannounced was a risk, but it paid off for him in the end. How did you react to your conversation?

JESSE PALMER: I give Devin a lot of credit for speaking up and talking things through with Jenn right away. That conversation was the right thing to do, and I think Jenn appreciated his honesty.

Sam M. said he wanted to “take responsibility” for his behavior, but it seemed like Jenn – and the audience – weren’t buying it. After speaking to him personally, do you think his feelings for Jenn were genuine?

The only person who will ever really know is Sam M.

Both Jonathon and Hakeem received invitations to the next summer season of Bachelor in Paradise. What advice do you have for them when it comes to finding love in the midst of heat, insects and sunburn?

Don’t come to paradise with preconceived ideas about who you’ll end up with. Go on dates. Be open-minded. Be honest about your feelings. Take initiative. Drink lots of water. Wear sunscreen. Don’t sleep on the floor.

Speaking of Hakeem, why did you all have to torture him with another giant spider? Come on! Hasn’t he been through enough with scary wild animals already?

I love Hakeem and give him so much credit, he’s such a brave guy. That spider was so big, I couldn’t have done it. If that spider had run off his leg, I would have run off the stage.

The breakdowns were great as always, but you weren’t there! What breakdown moment did you have that we didn’t see?

Emely and I took our daughter Ella with us to Melbourne and Auckland, so spitting and peeing on “Daddy” were my biggest mistakes!
