San Juan County has been notified by the Secretary of State’s office that a recount of votes in the race for Commissioner of Public Lands must be completed. Final election results from the 2024 primary election showed that the difference in votes between the second and third candidates in the race for Commissioner of Public Lands was less than 0.0258%. This narrow margin will prompt a recount across the state.

Pursuant to RCW 42.30, notice is hereby given that the San Juan County Canvassing Board, or its duly appointed delegates, shall meet on August 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. to set the date and time of a manual recount of the votes cast in the August 6, 2024 primary election for the office of Commissioner of Public Lands. This meeting shall be held at the San Juan County Elections Office located at 55 Second St, Suite A, Friday Harbor, WA.
