New Google Gemini AI experts called Gems could be good for SEO

New Google Gemini AI experts called Gems could be good for SEO

Google has announced a new feature for Gemini AI called Gems, which are pre-built specialized experts that help users code, coach, create content, brainstorm, and complete other tasks. Gems will soon launch with pre-built experts and the ability for users to create their own experts for specific tasks.

What is Gemini Gems?

Gemini Gems is a feature of Google’s Gemini AI platform designed to perform specific, narrowly defined tasks. Users can create their own AI experts by giving specific instructions that turn the Gems into experts who can offer help in a well-defined role.

Practical applications in the real world

I haven’t seen Gems yet, but I wonder what would happen if you fed it Google’s quality guidelines, the SEO Starter Guide, and other documentation, and then let it loose on the content to see if it could identify where and why improvements could be made.

Google provides examples of using Gems in business and professional environments.

  • Help with programming:
Gems can be a coding assistant that can focus on a specific need, such as debugging code or making suggestions for improvements.
  • Career planning:
A career planner can create a Gem that acts like a career coach and can offer advice and personalized career plans.
  • Contents
Gem can provide writers with ideas, improve content, and provide feedback like a writing expert.

An analogy to Gemini Gems could be a tool bag, for example. Each tool specializes in something different, such as a drill, a screwdriver, and a hammer.

Influence of gemstones

Gems is a useful feature for Gemini users because they may no longer need to subscribe to a service that provides AI assistance with a specific task. This may be bad news for SaaS companies that offer AI-based content creation and other services, but it’s good news for enterprises because it allows users to do more and better jobs.

According to Google’s announcement:

“With Gems, you can assemble a team of experts to help you think through a challenging project, brainstorm ideas for an upcoming event, or write the perfect headline for a social media post. Your Gem can also remember a detailed set of instructions to help you save time on tedious, repetitive, or difficult tasks.”

This new feature may be the reason why a Google Gemini subscription is worth trying out, as it has the potential to make an impact in both business and personal settings.
