Daily Recap 8/28 – Jenn’s overnight dates, thoughts on men reveal all, Sam’s performance, prediction for Grant’s season, Brittany and Jax’s divorce and Big Brother chaos

You’re listening to the Daily Roundup as part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thanks for tuning in, everyone. Happy Wednesday show to you. We’re going to talk about last night’s Men Tell All, some observations I made during it, and what we saw on the episode from Hawaii before the rose ceremony in regards to Devin’s conversation with Jen.

That changes what happens at the final rose ceremony a little bit. Then we’ll talk about what happened when Aaron was with the men. What I think of Sam M’s performance as the Bachelor. I have a prediction. It’s a prediction, but I guarantee you 1000 percent it’s going to happen.

Also in the world of reality TV, Brittany Cartwright has filed for divorce from Jax Taylor, which I don’t think would be good for her. Big Brother is absolute chaos. I’ll give you my thoughts on that. Tomorrow’s podcast, the weekly podcast, is with Tommy Bracco from Big Brother season 21.

And we’ll talk about it. And he and I are pretty much on the same page when I see what he’s posted on social media about Tucker. As a former player, he has some really interesting thoughts on that. He made the top five, right? Anyway, I’m going to record with Tommy today, but I can’t wait to talk to him about this season of Big Brother.

And if I have time later, I might come to the Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green podcast that they did earlier this week. We’ll come back to that in a minute. So, The Mentel Law was, I don’t want to say a huge disappointment, but as usual, it overpromised and underdelivered. I know the whole thing and I’ve been talking about it all season. Let’s just go to The Men Tell All to figure out this Sam and Jen thing and see what he says and if he shows remorse and if he does.

What I told him to do. I’ll get to that in a minute, because there are other things I want to talk about. You know, one of the things I address in the reveal episode of every season is: Are we going to wave both hands when the men or the women are introduced?

Normally, the double hand wave is more of a woman’s thing. To be honest, I wasn’t even paying attention last night. I don’t know if another man did it or not. And. It kind of slips by for me. I just didn’t really pay attention to the double hand wave. If someone did it, congratulations to them.

One thing I noticed, though, when I saw the guys doing it. I don’t think that’s ever happened in the history of men or women. I don’t think that’s ever happened. And if I’m wrong, I’ll do 500 push-ups. I don’t know. That was just the first thing that came to mind. I can’t do 500 push-ups, not in a row.

Over the course of a day. Sure. But here’s what I have to say about it, and it’s just weird. It’s nothing major, but when they see the contestants on stage, whether it’s the women telling it all or the men telling it, when they’re put on stage, it’s basically done in order of elimination. The men in the back row, the women in the back row are always people that went home after episodes one, two, three, and then when it goes back to the front row, they basically go in line order when they introduce the men and the women, that’s when you have your longer-lasting men, longer-lasting women in the front row.

The fact that they put Jeremy in the last row is a guarantee that no one who has made it to the final four of any Bachelor or Bachelorette season has ever had to sit in the last row to tell it all until last night with Jeremy. Now I’m glad they didn’t ignore Jeremy because the things Jeremy said were pretty spot on, but I’ve never seen a finalist in the final four.

A person who makes it to the final four gets back row status at a tell-all event. That’s never happened to me. That’s never happened before. I don’t even think Bachelor Data has the information on that. I don’t even think we’ll ever get an answer to that, but I’m telling you, that’s impossible. Just off the top of my head.

Every time they tell all the people in the top row or the people who left earlier why they’re putting Jeremy back there. I don’t know. Now I understand that he wasn’t a central point of the season even though he made it to the final four. We didn’t really get to know him until Seattle, which was episode six, but I’m glad that even though they put him in the back row, they actually let him speak because like I said, he had some very good things to say.

Then they showed us the rest of the episode with the cliffhanger from last night, Devin going into Jen’s room and basically saying he needs more and he’s opened up and stuff, and then Jen basically tells him, you stupid goose. I’m in love with you. I was like, oh, okay. Fine. And now my prediction from yesterday that at the final rose ceremony, she says to Devin, “I can’t let you propose to me.”

I said that would be followed by a period, period, period until I tell you I love you. Well, it’s not going to be that now. Because she’s already told him she loves him. So now she’s told Marcus and Devin. She loved, she loves them. And I think they showed it again last night when they showed the preview for next week’s episode, and all season long when they’ve shown the final episode and hints of what happens in the final episode, we see the same thing, how many times have they shown Jen at the final altar where she says, I can’t let you propose to me.

We all know that’s not happening because they’re making it look like Jen is leaving single, but that’s just not the case. I know they’re saying, “Oh, this is unprecedented and nothing like this has ever happened before.” Well, it’s not like she’s leaving single, because Jen Shaft walked away single as the Bachelorette.

She’s the only other one. Every other Bachelorette has been there, gotten engaged, so I don’t know what it is. Maybe I’ll find out in the next five days. Maybe not. But what I do know is what they showed in the first two minutes of the season. Jen standing at the altar saying, “I can’t let you propose to me,” is not the case.

Yep. That’s it. And then we’ll see what happens right after that. And the person walks away, they put down the last rose, and they’re done. That’s obviously not it. It’s kind of a twist. Now I thought that was going to be followed by a period, period, period. I won’t, I can’t let you propose to me until I tell you I love you.

We know now that she’s told both Marcus and Devin, her last two men, that she loves them. Okay. So that’s not it, but I think it’s going to be something that’s the opposite of what she just said. I don’t know what, I know a lot of people think that she’s proposing to Devin and that she’s the one proposing.

I don’t know. I mean, I think it’s possible. I have no idea, if I knew what it was, I’d tell you, but I have no idea. I really have no guesses as to what it is. I don’t know. I just know, or I think it’ll be the opposite of what she just said, because I know she left the island with Devin. I guess I’ll just fill in the blank as to what it could be.

But I, I honestly have no assumptions. The interesting thing about the exit with Jonathan to me was, you know, she’s walking with him, they’re sitting on a bench, benches are just very important on this show. Bachelor and Bachelorette. There’s always a bench for everyone to sit on. And Jonathan said, you know, the night before, he was sitting there and finally got the clarity he needed, but obviously it was too late.

He was sorry. And he was sitting there talking to Jen. And then we heard. The car that’s taking him away just revs the engine, not in a loud way, not like a race car. The car you hear started up and then he almost said, oh, that’s my cue. I guess I have to go now. And I just thought it was funny because I don’t think we’ve ever heard anything like that. Usually the car, I think, is just already running and the two people are having a conversation and when they’re done they get up and the leader sends them off, but I just thought it was funny because it literally stood out because as they were sitting there and I think when the engine started up, neither of them were talking.

So it was so obvious. And it was almost like saying, “Hey buddy, hurry up. We’re on a time crunch here.” I don’t know if that was the case, but that was the one thing that stood out to me about her exit with Jonathan: They were sitting there, it was all quiet. And then all of a sudden we heard the engine start and within five seconds it was like their conversation was over and it didn’t sound like it was over until I heard the engine.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed that. Maybe it was just me. I’m weird about that. So those were the main things that I noticed in the Hawaii episode. And they’re showing it to us next week. You know, the finale is on Tuesday because Monday night is Labor Day. They’re not going to show the finale on a holiday.

So the finale is next week, Tuesday night. I expect it will be another three-hour show, two hours of what happened in Hawaii interspersed with what happens in the live studio. As soon as people finish, Marcus will be out. I’m sure he’ll be sitting there on the couch. Jesse, you’ll talk to him.

They bring Jen out. They talk and then they bring Devin out, all that stuff. We’ve seen it a thousand times. We know how the final episode goes. Usually it’s a three-hour show with two hours of footage from Hawaii and then an hour after the final rose, but in the last few seasons they’ve kind of mixed it together so between commercial breaks you have Jesse in the studio talking to the audience, interviewing alumni, all that stuff.

We probably will. We’ll probably have Joan onstage at some point. They’ll introduce her as our golden Bachelorette because her season starts two weeks after this episode airs, or, you know, two weeks on one day after it airs. So I fully expect that. We already had our interview with Grant last night, but I want to talk about some men who tell all.
