Former stuntman David Holmes, who was paralyzed during the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, organizes a charity cricket match every year.

Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis revive Harry Potter the fans’ favorite rivalry.

On Tuesday, August 27, Felton, 36, shared a selfie of himself and his potter Co-star Lewis, 35, poses with David Holmes, a stuntman who worked on the fantasy films, at a Hogwarts cricket charity match, the David Holmes Cricket Cup.

“Who won 🦁 against 🐍 by 1 point? Bloody Longbottom 🏏,” Felton, who played Slytherin student Draco Malfoy in the films, wrote in a caption for the event, suggesting that Lewis – who played Neville Longbottom – and his Gryffindor-led team won the game.

Holmes himself shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday detailing the 15th annual charity event, which was organized for the first time after he was paralyzed from the chest down with a severe spinal injury following an explosion on set during filming of “The 2010.” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

“Over those 15 years, friends and family have come together in my honour, which is incredible, and raised money for charity, probably hundreds of thousands of pounds over the years,” he said in the video, noting that Team Gryffindor now leads 8-7 following their win at the annual event.

According to Holmes’ video and a GoFundMe campaign for the event, this year’s cricket match raised funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in the UK. According to the event, Holmes was treated at the latter hospital after his accident and has worked as an ambassador for the hospital since 2013. Felton, on the other hand, has worked with the latter children’s charity since 2015.

The GoFundMe page also states that Felton has participated in seven of the 15 annual cricket matches, including the original event in 2009.

In November 2023, Lewis and Felton’s co-star Daniel Radcliffe reunited with Holmes, who primarily worked as Radcliffe’s stunt double in the film. Harry Potter Films to produce the HBO documentary David Holmes: The Boy Who LivedThe title of the film is derived from the nickname given to Harry Potter throughout the franchise.

Holmes had previously shared a photo of himself with Lewis and Felton at a past event of the annual cricket match in July, writing that the event had raised over £100,000 for the UK’s Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital over the years.

He also regularly shares photos and memories from his career as a stuntman potter Sets and elsewhere on Instagram, including a picture he posted in May of himself dressed as Felton’s stunt double for 2002 Chamber of Secrets.
