Shohei Ohtani’s bobble head has fans lining up eight hours before game time

Shohei Ohtani is enjoying a record-breaking season in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and if anyone doubted how popular he is, we got a clue on Wednesday.

The Dodgers are giving away Ohtani bobbleheads on Wednesday night, and fans have been lining up since 11 a.m. to get them. The game doesn’t start until 7:10 p.m. The diehard fans are lining up eight hours before first pitch. That’s pretty crazy behavior.

Another look at the line.

Are they loyal fans or crazy people? Maybe a bit of both.

Ohtani has established himself as one of the best baseball players in the world, and after signing a 10-year, $700 million contract in the offseason, he is the face of the Dodgers now and in the future. And he delivered this season.

Heading into Wednesday night’s game, the 30-year-old superstar has a .294 batting average, .379 on-base percentage and .614 slugging average. His .994 OPS is fourth-best in baseball, and he has 40 home runs, 94 RBIs and 40 stolen bases. He is the sixth and fastest player to join the 40/40 club this season.

Apparently, Dodgers fans are already keen on the superstar and are willing to stand in line for almost half a day just for a bobblehead.
