World Lion Day is observed annually on August 10 to raise awareness about the plight of lions and the importance of conservation efforts. This day highlights the importance of the kings of the jungle and mobilizes support for their protection. These majestic creatures face numerous threats including habitat loss, poaching and climate change. Their numbers are steadily declining and only a few lions remain in the wild. The Asiatic lion is classified as a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to its small population and restricted habitat. World Lion Day aims to raise awareness about these issues and encourage conservation efforts to protect these creatures and their habitats. Here are some of the best places to see lions in India:
