Nashville singer Claire Kelly to perform in Chicago Soul Spectacular in September at The Venue in Aurora – Shaw Local

The venue’s September lineup includes a Nashville singer-songwriter, a local band’s album release party, a Spanish rock tribute night and more in the music room in downtown Aurora.

On Friday, September 6, The Venue will host a free concert for First Fridays from 6-8 p.m. The Warren Douglas Band will perform at the free First Fridays show. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for an open house during the monthly, citywide event.

On Saturday, September 7, the venue will host Saint Astro’s album release party. The Aurora-based indie rock group will release their eponymous album at the event. Saint Astro has become a local favorite with their electrifying sound and eclectic style. Tickets are $20-$25 in advance, $25-$30 at the door.

Great Moments in Vinyl features Peter Gabriel at The Venue on Friday, September 13. Bandleader Lindsey Cochran invites Chicago musicians to join him for an evening of music and stories. They will pay tribute to Gabriel, a remarkably innovative musician, with two sets of music from across his solo career, with the album “So” as the main focus. Tickets are $20-$25 in advance. $25-$30 at the door.

Claire Kelly will perform with Little Hill at The Venue on Sunday, September 15. Nashville artist Kelly has songs on ABC Network, HBO Max, Hallmark, Netflix and more. She has become a favorite with fans with her witty lyrics and laid-back style. Little Hill is a Celtic-inspired folk trio that includes Kelly, Nashville singer-songwriters Grace Serene and Kayla Lunden. The friends share a deep connection to their Celtic roots and a love of three-part harmony singing. Tickets are general admission and cost $15 in advance. $20 at the door.

Omar Coleman and Westside Soul are back at The Venue on Friday, September 20. Coleman brings his impressive harmonica playing and soulful vocals to the stage. Tickets are $20-$25 in advance. $25-$30 at the door.

On Saturday, September 21, The Venue and Chicago Rock Ensamble will host a Spanish Rock Tributes Night, featuring the best Spanish rock bands in the history of Spanish rock. Tribute bands Lo Essencial Caifanes, Cultura Pop and special guest Sueños Líquidos will play the songs of Caifanes, Soda Stereo and Mana. Tickets are general admission and cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Chicago Soul Spectacular featuring Rashada Dawan will take to the Venue stage on Saturday, September 28. The group of Chicagoland musicians will play soul hits from Motown and beyond. Accompanied by powerful vocalist Dawan, they will experience an unforgettable evening. Tickets are $20-25 in advance, $25-30 at the door.

The Pete Ellman Big Band will take the Venue stage for the last time in its summer concert series on Tuesday, September 17. Tickets are $20-$25. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Unless otherwise noted, doors open for all shows at 7 p.m. Shows begin at 8 p.m. The venue, 21 S. Broadway in downtown Aurora, offers a wide selection of craft beer and other beverages at the bar, which is open for all shows.

Free parking is available on the street as well as in the lot across from City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place at the corner of Downer Place and Water Street. The venue entrance is on the Water Street Mall, next to City Hall and Mundy Park.
