WCC and Middle East Council of Churches develop plans for Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order

The conference will mark the 1700th anniversary of the WorldThe first Ecumenical Council, the Council of Nicaea, held in 325, is considered a fundamental and decisive stage in the history of the Christian faith and the ecumenical path.

A joint coordination meeting of the communications and media teams of the WCC and the Middle East Council of Churches took place on 19 August.

During the meeting, participants discussed plans for media coverage of the conference and ways to coordinate and collaborate to bring this celebratory event to the forefront. Participants also shared insights on media and logistics, with the aim of developing a clear action plan and media strategy.

The Papal Logos Center was founded by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, as a center for dialogue, communication, culture and education. The Twelfth General Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches was held in May 2022 under the hospitality of His Holiness under the title “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

The Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order will be one of many activities in 2025, which the WCC celebrates as an ecumenical pilgrimage year of justice, reconciliation and unity.
