The Cincinnati Bengals have signed defensive end KJ Henry from the Washington Commanders via waiver, the team announced on Wednesday.
In a corresponding move, the Bengals released running back Trayveon Williams.
The Bengals have also signed the following 12 players to the practice squad:
- CB Nate Brooks
- WR Cole Burgess
- OT Devin Cochran
- DT Domenique Davis
- CB Jalen Davis
- TE Cam Grandy
- LB Shaka Heyward
- C Trey Hill
- WR Shedrick Jackson
- S PJ Jules
- WR Kendric Pryor
- Quarterback Logan Woodside
The Bengals’ practice squad is currently four spots short of the 16-man limit, so expect more changes to be made soon.
Additionally, CB Lance Robinson, who was released/injured by the Bengals yesterday, was released from waivers today and returned to the team’s injured reserve list.
Henry, a second-year player at Clemson, was selected by the Commanders in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played in 10 games (three starts) for Washington as a rookie last season, totaling 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two pass deflections.
As for Williams, expect the Bengals to bring him back via the practice squad or the 53-man roster if another move occurs. The Bengals now have just two running backs on the active roster and practice squad.
