Supreme Group buys PR specialist for life sciences

The US company has acquired 100 percent of the Cambridge-based BioSciences PR and marketing agency, BioStrata.

The deal “marks a significant milestone in our journey to building a world-class platform serving a broad range of life sciences and healthcare companies,” said Tom Donnelly, CEO of Supreme Group.

“BioStrata’s integrated communications and marketing capabilities will enable us to better meet the diverse needs of life sciences companies, expand our customer base and further grow our presence in the UK and Europe,” he said.

BioStrata’s leadership will remain in place and the agency will continue to operate under its brand name as a separate organization within the Supreme Group.

Clare Russell, co-founder and CEO of BioStrata, will take on the role of President of the UK agency. Paul Avery, co-founder and CEO of BioStrata, will become Vice President of Marketing for Supreme Group.

Russell said: “Joining Supreme Group opens up exciting new opportunities for BioStrata, our clients and our team. This partnership strengthens our position in the life sciences marketing landscape and adds specialized digital expertise to our service offering.”

The acquisition comes just months after Supreme Group, backed by private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners, acquired US-based integrated specialty agency Health+Commerce.

Mike Steindorf, Partner at Trinity Hunt, said: “We invest in people-focused healthcare and business services companies that are leaders in their field. Adding BioStrata to our portfolio, alongside Supreme Optimization, Clarity Quest and Health+Commerce, is an important step in becoming the global leader in life sciences marketing and communications.”
