MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Our forecast remains unchanged for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. We are giving you the first warning of warm and humid weather for the upcoming three-day weekend.
TODAY
With clear skies, light winds and high humidity, early morning fog is likely. This fog will become thicker in places and will result in a slower commute for some people as they head out the door this morning.
As soon as the fog clears from the area in the morning, you can expect temperatures around 30 degrees on the Grand Strand today. Inland, temperatures will reach up to 35 degrees with plenty of sunshine. The heat index will reach 38-39 degrees today.
REST OF THE WEEK
This sluggish weather pattern will see little to no change through the end of the work week. Temperatures will continue to be in the 30s to 35s Celsius through the end of the week. Inland, highs will be in the 35s to 35s Celsius, with Thursday being the warmest day of the week. The heat index will again be in the 38s to 40s Celsius through the end of the work week.
The nights and mornings will be mild and humid, with patches of fog at times.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND
The latest model data this morning continues to show your Labor Day weekend to be hot and humid, with a low chance of rain for all outdoor activities.
Maximum temperatures will remain between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius and the heat index will be at or just above 38 degrees Celsius.
There is again a chance of one or two isolated storms towards Sunday, but most areas will remain dry.
Labor Day will have the highest chance of rain over the three-day weekend, as a few thunderstorms are still possible in the afternoon. An approaching cold front will bring some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
This cold front is likely to bring showers and storms to the forecast for the coming week. More on that later this week.
