COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest after authorities seized a large number of firearms and narcotics pursuant to a search warrant Tuesday.
Maurice Huling, 49, is charged with numerous crimes, including seven counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, seven counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, two counts of theft by receiving stolen goods (weapon), possession of a sawed-off shotgun, trafficking in ecstasy, willful possession of cocaine, willful possession of marijuana, possession of oxycodone, possession of psilocybin, and a violation of Schedule I of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.
According to investigators, the following items were seized during the search:
- A stolen H&K 7.62 AR-style rifle
- A stolen 9mm pistol
- Five additional firearms
- 10.9 grams of cocaine (street value $1,090)
- 121.1 grams/329 ecstasy pills (street value $3,290)
- 867.4 grams of spice (street value $1,700)
- 12.4 grams of marijuana (street value $120.40)
- Two psilocybin chocolate bars (street value $30)
- Six oxycodone pills (street value $30)
Huling is being held in the Muscogee County Jail awaiting further court proceedings.
