Minors gang raped near state hospital in Jodhpur, Congress speaks of “jungle raj” in Rajasthan

Jodhpur (PTI): A 15-year-old girl who went missing from her home was allegedly raped by two men at a garbage dump behind a government hospital, police said on Tuesday.
The incident sparked sharp reactions from the opposition Congress party, which sharply attacked the BJP government in the state and claimed that a “jungle raj” was ruling in Rajasthan.
The incident took place on Sunday evening when the girl reached the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital. The two accused took her to a garbage yard behind the hospital and allegedly raped her, said Anil Kumar, deputy commissioner of police, Jodhpur City (West).
The case came to light on Monday. The two suspects were arrested and are being questioned, the official said.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra attacked the BJP government over the incident.
“The gang rape of a minor girl at Jodhpur’s Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital is yet another example of how Rajasthan is moving towards ‘jungle raj’. Neither the civic officials nor the police in Jodhpur pay attention to law and order, which is why criminals are not afraid,” Gehlot said on X.
He said: “Crime-free Jodhpur has been ruined by the BJP’s mismanagement.”
Dotasra said law and order in the state had deteriorated under BJP rule.
“There is not a single district where there is no crime against women. Women are not safe. There is no law and order in the state,” he told reporters.
