A stand that is another world of books

A stand that is another world of books

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bookworms! Get ready, Kerala State Jawahar Balabhavan has turned into a book stall at Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Kanakakunnu, with an ongoing whopping sale of 30% to 40% on a wide range of books. This is a great opportunity for students who are keen to spend money on books but their tight wallets do not allow them to do so.

The bookstall has a very wide selection. Special sections offer a wide selection, with romance novels, motivational novels, fiction, non-fiction and children’s books being particularly popular. And then there is a section dedicated to the weebs (a Gen Z social media term for Japanese anime) – a section for “manga” literature.

The book exhibition already had a considerable number of visitors from Thiruvananthapuram at the stand.

The prices are pretty similar to those online, but with discounts. What isn’t so typical online is the satisfaction of seeing the books physically in advance, which is what makes holding the book in your hands so appealing.

“I love the books sold here, especially the romance category. Books like ‘It Ends With Us’ and ‘The Girl in Room 105’ by Chetan Bhagath caught my attention. I also like the ambience of this store with Sharukh Khan’s old music playing in the background as we browse through these amazing books.

I wish we saw more stalls like this so that a bookworm like me could read to sleep every night without worrying about running out of books. Kudos for the discounts. It’s really helpful for students like me to buy novels without worrying about losing a lot of money,” says Nanda NA, a student.

This booth and sale will run until August 18, so book lovers will have plenty of time to check out the books on display.
