Rochester police issued an Amber Alert Tuesday evening for a missing 7-year-old child.
They are investigating what they describe as a child abduction that occurred around 11 a.m. Monday near 189 N. Water St.
The child, Akelise Johnson, is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 4 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 60 pounds.
Akelise was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, colourful shorts and white square glasses.
The suspect, Celeta Johnson, is the child’s mother, according to police. She is described as a black woman, approximately 35 years old, with short black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5’7″ tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds.
According to RPD, she was last seen wearing a dark bob-style wig, a white t-shirt, long dark pants, and a gold chain piercing that ran from her ear to her nose.
Police say Johnson was last seen on N. Water St., possibly heading toward Trust St.
They also say Akelise was abducted under circumstances that led police to believe there was an imminent threat of serious injury and/or death.
