Anthony Mackie of Brave New World admits Tom Holland was right about one thing

Captain America: Brave New WorldAnthony Mackie loves a good dig at his former co-star and Spider Man Franchise actor Tom Holland, now and again. Mackie, however, admits that Holland is right about one thing, even if it contains a little sarcasm.




On his Instagram page, Mackie remembered the recent San Diego Comic-Con and shared more details and footage from Brave new worldthe fourth part of the Captain America film series. Mackie, who starred alongside Holland in the last Captain America Consequence, Civil Warsaid he was “letting the magnitude of what was happening sink in” after his Comic-Con appearance before tagging Holland, claiming he was right that it “feels different when you go with your own movie.” Mackie’s comment was in response to comments Holland made in 2018, when he teased him about not wanting a movie made about him.


The playful rivalry between Mackie and Holland goes back to Civil Warwhen Mackie and fellow star Sebastian Stan joked about how difficult it was to work with Holland on the set of the 2016 sequel. The two have occasionally exchanged barbs over the years, with Mackie recently taking a swipe at Holland by claiming Brave new world is “better” than any of his films. Despite the fabricated animosity, both men have expressed interest in working together again on screen, where fans might also see Captain America and Spider-Man take on each other in their lines.

Brave new world In this film, Mackie’s Sam Wilson embodies the eponymous super soldier for the first time in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, after Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers gave him the famous shield during Avengers: EndgameIn the upcoming film, Sam works with U.S. President Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross (Harrison Ford) when tensions arise between them over the handling of certain missions. As President Ross craves more power over superhuman affairs, Brave new world sets up a possible confrontation between Captain America and Ross’ alter ego, Red Hulk.

Mackie plays the lead role in Brave new world alongside Ford, Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon), Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley), Liv Tyler (Betty Ross), Giancarlo Esposito (Seth Voelker/Sidewinder) and Tim Blake Nelson (Samuel Sterns/Leader). Mackie, whose most recent MCU appearance was in the Disney+ miniseries, The Falcon and the Winter Soldieradmitted earlier this summer that the transition from television to film was “daunting,” although he has since gotten used to the grind.

Director: Julius Onah, Brave new world has been re-shooting since May, including the scenes with Esposito. The upcoming Phase Five tentpole hopes to build on the huge commercial success of Deadpool and Wolverinewhich has grossed over $1.21 billion at the worldwide box office since its release on July 26.

Brave new world will be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
