1010 WINS reporter Kelly Dillon describes the attack suffered in Manhattan

1010 WINS reporter Kelly Dillon is recovering after being the victim of an apparently random attack by a man while leaving New York City news station Audacy in Manhattan.

In a 20-minute-plus TikTok she posted on Saturday, Dillon said she left the station after submitting her final report last week and was later attacked by a random man.

“The area is pretty deserted at night. It’s a quiet area,” she said. “I’m always on guard when I’m walking alone in the city as a young woman.”

The 1010 WINS news and traffic reporter then described in detail the injuries she sustained in the attack.

“I can’t move my arm. It’s still healing. It’s pretty painful,” Dillon said. “And of course the whole body hurts tremendously from the impact, the impact on the asphalt and the trauma of the whole situation.”

Kelly Dillon subsequently criticized the lack of coverage of the random attacks on women in the Big Apple, saying both the city and the media were “definitely downplaying this.”

“You can’t downplay this. The streets are not safe for women right now, or for anyone, frankly. But especially for women,” she added. “This felt very deliberate and planned.”

According to the New York PostThe NYPD has claimed that no one has been arrested in connection with the attack on Dillon and that the “investigation is ongoing.”
