Epic Mickey Rebrushed Demo Now Available

Epic Mickey Rebrushed Demo Now Available

A demo for Epic Mickey Reburshed is now available.

The demo of the game, which will be released in September, is now available for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

VGC recently got a chance to try out the game for themselves and said it was “a huge improvement over the original.”

“With about a month until release, we won’t have long to wait to see if Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will breathe new life into a game that really deserved more love the first time around, but didn’t get that attention due to platform exclusivity, waning enthusiasm for the Wii, and annoying flaws like the game’s camera,” we wrote.

“One thing is for sure though: if Rebrushed sells well enough and it proves there’s still an audience for this darker take on Mickey Mouse, Purple Lamp has its fingers crossed that it gets the green light to remake Epic Mickey 2. Based on what I’ve heard from Rebrushed, I hope THQ is all ears if Purple Lamp is interested in the sequel – pardon the inevitable Mickey pun.”

Epic Mickey is available to pre-order for $59.99/£49.99 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Switch.

Released exclusively for Nintendo Wii, Epic Mickey offers a darker take on a Mickey Mouse story in which Mickey visits the wasteland where forgotten Disney characters live.

It also marked the return of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a creation of Walt Disney, whose intellectual property the company had recently acquired from Universal.

Epic Mickey was developed by the now-defunct Junction Point Studios and directed by Deus Ex creator Warren Spector. According to THQ, Spector worked on the remake, which was developed by Purple Lamp in collaboration with Disney Games.
