Anantara Ubud Bali Resort, a graceful tropical retreat adjacent to the traditional hilltop village of Banjar Puhu in northern Ubud, will be the second Anantara property to open on the Indonesian island when it welcomes its first guests on October 1, 2024.

The tranquil resort consists of 85 contemporary suites and pool villas and 15 branded residences that stretch down a densely forested hill to a mountain stream. It is close to the vibrant cultural life of Ubud, yet feels wonderfully secluded. Contemporary 53-square-meter suites transport guests into the heart of the jungle, with gently rustling branches and soothing sounds of the babbling stream providing a natural soundtrack. The one- and two-bedroom villas, all with infinity pools, are designed as calming oases amidst the treetops.

Culinary options range from the signature eatery AMERTA, where local dishes cooked in a wood-fired oven celebrate Bali’s abundance, to local fare and nutritious breakfasts at KIRANA, to misty valley views and delicious beverages at SULANG, and afternoon tea and all-day coffee with a breathtaking panorama of Mount Agung at the Lobby Lounge. For special occasions, the unique Designer Dining offers the opportunity to host a private picnic lunch by a waterfall or a formal dinner in a private gazebo.

The resort’s leisure facilities include two heated swimming pools (adults-only and family), a jungle-themed yoga deck and a spacious gym. The youngest travelers have their own space at the Kids’ Club. The Anantara Spa, where the lush forest and flowing stream immerse guests in nature, offers indigenous treatments and healing therapies as well as multi-day wellness experiences. Two state-of-the-art meeting rooms ensure productive stays in a stimulating, distraction-free environment.

When you’re not exploring the trendy restaurants, fashion boutiques and art galleries in central Ubud, you can take part in on-site arts and crafts workshops, hands-on cooking classes and guided yoga and meditation. Those looking to immerse themselves in nature can enjoy the stunning beauty of the island’s highlands right on their doorstep, from emerald rice paddies to Hindu temples and shrines.

The resort is a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. To celebrate the opening, Anantara Ubud Bali has launched a special stay package: ‘Ubud Indulgence Awaits’, valid until March 31, 2025. For more information, visit www.anantara.com/en/ubud-bali.
