Paul Rudd and Jack Black have teamed up for a reboot of the 90s cult classic anaconda.
The original thriller was released in 1997 and was about a National Geographic film crew that was taken hostage by a mad hunter and sent to search for the largest and deadliest snake in the world.
The cast included Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Eric Stoltz and Jonathan Hyde.
anaconda was a surprise box office hit upon its release, grossing $145 million worldwide. The film’s success later led to the release of four sequels.

Now Rudd and Black are in talks to star in a new version of the film, whose story tends more towards comedy, according to Deadline.
The Sony Pictures film is said to revolve around a group of friends going through a midlife crisis who decide to remake their favorite film from their youth. But when they head into the jungle, nothing goes according to plan.
Further details about Rudd and Black’s roles have yet to be revealed, but two of the main characters are described as a director who moonlights as a wedding videographer and an actor whose career peaked with an appearance on a police drama.
The unbearable burden of enormous talent Writers Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten wrote the screenplay, Gormican will also direct. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are on board as producers.

The news comes after Rudd landed a role alongside Nick Jonas in an upcoming musical comedy from director John Carney.
Power ballad tells the story of a singer (Rudd), a rock star (Jonas) and the song that develops between them. The film is currently being shot in Dublin.
As for Black, the actor recently boarded the anticipated Minecraft Film. The adaptation of the hit game is directed by Jared Hess for Warner Bros, Vertigo and Legendary Pictures and will be released in April 2025.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomby Jason Momoa, PeacemakerDanielle Brooks and WednesdayEmma Myers is also in the cast.
