Prince William He may not have had a confrontation with Voldemort, but he still bears the badge of honor of a lightning scar.

The 41-year-old royal spoke about his Harry Potter-like scar during his visit to Cardiff Metropolitan University on Tuesday, June 11. William was there to “celebrate the progress already made in Wales and to hear about further innovations in seaweed that could help the Welsh seaweed industry reach its full potential,” according to Kensington Palace.

In response to the question from Pierre PaslierCo-founder of Notpla – which supplies seaweed packaging to sports venues – when he plays golf, William pointed to his forehead. “No – the last time I played golf…” he said loudly Hello! Magazine.

In 1991, William was hospitalised after being hit by a golf club while out with friends at Ludgrove Preparatory School. “I was hit by a golf club while playing golf with a friend,” he said BBC‘s Newsround in 2018. “We were on a putting green and suddenly a 7-iron came out of nowhere and hit me in the head.” He added that people rarely notice the injury, although his scar sometimes “glows.”

It is only fitting that William would tout an unintentional homage to Hogwarts. More than a decade ago, he was there to open the Making of Harry Potter studio tour in Leavesden, England, which featured sets from the Harry Potter Series. William, next to Princess Kate Middleton – then pregnant with Prince George – and Prince Harrytook part in wand lessons, visited the Great Hall and looked at props from the films. They also looked at Hagrid’s costumes and took part in a mock duel.

As a special highlight, the trio raised their wands in Diagon Alley to officially mark the unveiling of the studio tour.

William admitted that he wanted a little more of the Batman Props as the Harry Potter memorabilia. “To be honest, I’m overjoyed to have seen the real Batmobile and Batpod… You wouldn’t happen to have child seats for those cars, would you?” he joked loudly CBS News.

The royal added: “On the other hand, Harry is just excited to have a real talking owl in the Harry Potter Studios. I haven’t told him yet that Harry Potter is fictional, so please keep the secret for a little while.”
