FlamencoEñe 2024 will include its avant-garde edition, FlamencoEñe Off, following the success of the previous two editions. From September 11 to 13, from 9:00 p.m., the Planta Baja venue (Calle Horno de Abad, 11) will host free performances by top acts in the flamenco fusion and crossover styles. The lineup includes Clara Incendio, Crudo Pimento with Pablo Egea, David Surex with Joaquín Sánchez and Tony Martín, Pedro de Dios with Antonio Fernández, Proyecto Lorca and Sofía Comas with Sonakay. These artists will demonstrate the genre’s ability to blend with other musical styles while maintaining its core essence.
On the first evening, producer and DJ David Surex, saxophonist Joaquín Sánchez and pianist Tony Martín will combine flamenco, jazz and electronic music in their project “Futuro Compás”. The evening ends with the contemporary fusion of saxophone and percussion by Proyecto Lorca.
The following evening, Clara Incendio will bring her ethno-folk rhythms and politically charged performances to the stage. Pedro de Dios, leader of Guadalupe Plata, and Granada-born cantaor Antonio Fernández will explore the darker intersections of flamenco and blues in their project “Cantes Malditos”.
The series ends with a performance by Sofía Comas and the flamenco group Sonakay, as well as the experimental “Tacón en proceso de ruido” by Crudo Pimiento and the dancer Pablo Egea, who is known for using homemade instruments.
