Glen Powell explains why he turned down a new Jurassic World movie

Glen Powell has spoken out about his decision not to appear in the next Jurassic World film.

With the “Anyone But You” star currently one of the most sought-after names in the industry, he has apparently been offered the chance to star in director Gareth Edwards’ dinosaur blockbuster as well as a “Bourne” project.

“Jurassic (Park) is one of my favorite movies. It’s one of the things I’ve wanted to do my whole life,” he told the Hollywood Reporter.

“I’m not doing this film because I read the script and immediately thought my presence in this film would not help it. And the script is great. The film is going to be absolutely amazing. That’s not the point.”

“It’s about deciding where you make an audience happy and where you make yourself happy.”

Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo are set to star in the film.

Powell has quite a summer ahead of him thanks to the release of Hit Man and Twisters. In Twisters, he plays self-proclaimed “tornado wrangler” Tyler Owens, who eventually teams up with Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones).

Last month, Variety also reported that the actor will star in director Edgar Wright’s remake of “Running Man.”

In this dystopian tale based on the book by Stephen King, the American economy is in ruins and violence threatens to overwhelm the world.

Powell is set to play Ben Richards, who takes part in a bloodthirsty reality show called “The Running Man” in which he must outmaneuver a group of assassins to win a cash prize.

The next Jurassic film will be released in theaters on July 2, 2025.
