Got my 2020 Altroz repaired and repainted for half the price; here’s how!

Got my 2020 Altroz repaired and repainted for half the price; here’s how!

The quality of service at Trust Motors exceeded my expectations.

BHPian Sarkankur recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I own a 2020 Altroz that has suffered some damage including:

  • A long scratch across the front left fender, is from January 2022. I have no idea how it happened since it was parked. The primer was still intact but the paint was chipped.
  • Several scratches on the front left bumper, a gift in late 2023 from a driver who had drifted into the right lane after a left turn. Although the black plastic was visible in several places, none of the cars were significantly damaged as traffic stopped and went.
  • A stone chip dent on the left front door, from 2022.
  • Paint corrosion and rust formation on the front left door panel, directly under the mirror and inside the front right door side panel. As a result of the poor paint quality of the first batches of the Altroz

I have not tried any do-it-yourself solutions available on the internet or forums because the damage could not be repaired by do-it-yourself repairs.

Recently I had my car washed at one of the car detailing shops in my neighborhood and I was really amazed at how efficiently they removed some good old scale marks in a single wash. After a nice friendly chat with the owner (of the car detailing shop) I decided to get my car ceramic coated. I had been planning to get it for a long time but kept putting it off for various reasons.

This made it necessary to touch up the scratches and rust before I could send the vehicle in for ceramic coating. I asked the detailing studio, our apartment residents and Google Maps for tips on trustworthy body shops.

My search led me to Trust Motors. They are close to where I live and have received positive feedback (4.9 stars out of 52 reviews at the time of writing this thread).

I met with Mr Sandeep to get an estimate and was given quite reasonable prices for the repairs and paint job. He also assured me that he would use exactly the same paint code as the car.

The estimate for repairing the scratches, rust on the outside and a tiny dent and painting was INR 9,000. The rust treatment on the interior was free of charge.

That was almost half of Tata Motors’ cost estimatethat was 16,000 INR without taxes.

I dropped my car off for repairs on the morning of May 28th and got it back the evening of May 29th. They even had the car washed by the auto detailer I mentioned earlier.

The quality of service exceeded my expectations and was truly remarkable.
