PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Maintaining a healthy work-life balance, putting yourself and your well-being first, while also being efficient at work can be challenging for anyone.

The Panama City Chamber of Commerce held its 14th annual Women’s Work-Life Balance Symposium on Friday at the Holley Center on the FSU Panama City campus.

The program included several rounds of food, drinks and time for conversation, but the main focus was on work-life balance and personal and professional development. Participants met, got to know each other and checked out what the dozens of local vendors there had to offer.

Numerous speakers discussed topics such as organization, prioritization and dealing with the challenges and demands of professional and private life.

Additionally, six different workshops were offered, covering topics such as dealing with imposter syndrome, managing stress, and working toward a healthier life. Participants could choose two of the workshops they wanted to attend.

“Everyone is focused on work-life balance because we’re so busy every day that it’s important to balance that,” said Carley Morgan, event marketing director for the Panama City Chamber of Commerce. “Because we wear so many hats, we have to focus on ourselves first and be able to give back to our family, our friends and our coworkers. So really focusing on yourself first is key.”

“You get to meet new people, have fun, make business connections and learn a lot along the way. It’s just an all-around great event and we love doing it every year,” said Kristopher McLane, CEO and President of the Panama City Chamber of Commerce.

Tickets for the event are purchased in advance and organizers said they sell out each year, with more than 300 women attending. Click here to learn more about future Chamber events.
