It’s not the best news when the closure of an attraction you were looking forward to on your trip is announced.
Renovations, routine maintenance, and many other factors can cause attractions to close for days, weeks, or even months. And I’m sorry to break it to you, but a classic attraction at Magic Kingdom is now officially closed.
No, we are not joking here (although the attraction is known for its many puns), Jungle Cruise is officially closed from today, 26 August 2024, until October 18, 2024.
Not many details have been announced about what changes the closure will bring, but we expect it will be routine maintenance and touch-ups here and there to freshen up the attraction.
Renovations are very common at Disney World. Peter Pan’s Flight opened last week after one such renovation. As part of that renovation, one of the attraction’s scenes was updated and even then, the attraction opened earlier than expected. So there’s still hope that Jungle Cruise will be back in operation sooner rather than later!
However, if you arrive at Magic Kingdom on days when Jungle Cruise is closed and still want to experience the signature atmosphere, Skipper Canteen is a table-service restaurant decorated in the style of the classic attraction.
Here, guests can enjoy “world-famous jungle cuisine” in a variety of unique dining rooms, including a crew canteen or a hidden secret meeting room of the legendary Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
The restaurant’s staff are Jungle Cruise skippers, so while you won’t be able to adventure in a boat with them as your guide, you will at least be able to discover a world of adventurous cuisine.
There are still plenty of amazing attractions to experience at Magic Kingdom, so your trip is sure to be magical despite the closure.
