Vernon Kay said word had gotten around as he confirmed an epic return to his home town. The BBC Radio 2 star revealed on social media that he would be returning to Bolton as part of a special broadcast.
“We’re going to party,” Vernon announced on his Instagram story on Monday (August 12) as he unveiled part of BBC Radio 2 Dance’s “Sound of the 90s” live tour.
Alongside a poster confirming that he will headline the Albert Halls in Bolton on September 20, the 50-year-old told his fans and followers: “The word has got around.”

He added: “So excited to be bringing the dance sounds of the 90’s to my home town of Bolton on Friday 20th September. It’s going to be amazing!! Sign up now (link in bio) to get early access to tickets at @rglivetickets.”
And his fans and followers were quick to respond with their excitement. @inglejingle said: “It’s going to be a bloodbath!” @charlieplunkett27 commented: “It’s going to be (fire). You know what I mean?” @clairebetty97 asked: “OMG how do I get to Bolton??” @kelparmar added: “Would love to be there pleaaaaase.”
Vernon was previously spotted enjoying the summer break with his wife Tess Daly ahead of her return to Strictly Come Dancing. The couple, who married in 2003 and have two daughters together, Phoebe, 18, and Amber, 13, did not say where they were but it was clear they had left the UK and were spending some time together.
In a snap Tess shared on Instagram, the presenter and her husband, a TV and radio star, can be seen wearing oversized sunglasses as they smiled at the camera on what appeared to be a boat ride, with the clear blue sea lapping behind them.
Tess was also seen keeping her feet firmly on the ground, beaming at her husband in a stunning white bikini and matching cover-up before showing off some of the scenic views they enjoyed during their time away.
Stockport-born Tess captioned the post simply: “Sun & Sea,” along with a sunshine emoji and a white love heart. And her fans and followers were quick to respond and rave about the couple.
