The real reason Bryan Danielson won the AEW World Championship at All In London has been revealed thanks to a new report.
In the highly anticipated Career vs. Title main event between Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson at AEW All In London, it was Danielson who emerged victorious, capturing his first world title in the company and securing his future in the ring.
While The American Dragon is working on a “handshake deal” after his contract expires in early August, questions remain about his future with AEW despite winning the company’s top prize.
While we wait for proper answers to these questions, we have a new report from Fightful Select that sheds light on the decision to award the AEW World Championship to Danielson at Wembley Stadium.
According to the report, Danielson actively resisted the idea of winning any championships with the company, although it was AEW President Tony Khan who insisted that Danielson would win gold at some point during his career.
Ultimately, Danielson gave in to Khan’s wishes, giving us the memorable ending to All In London that we all witnessed on Sunday night.
Sources Fightful spoke to immediately following All In London claimed that Danielson vs. Strickland was the planned main event of the show “at least until April” of this year.
When asked why that spot was not given to local hero Will Ospreay, a source replied that the Aerial Assassin will have many more chances to headline at Wembley in the coming years.
