Fans’ reactions to the Lake Mary All-Stars’ victory over Texas
The Lake Mary Little League All-Stars baseball team advances to the LLWS World Championship game after defeating Texas 10-7 on Saturday.
The Lake Mary All-Stars have reason to celebrate – 2024 US Little League Champions and 2024 Little League World Champions!
And on Saturday, August 31, 2024, the city of Lake Mary will host a celebratory parade in her honor. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and will take place in downtown Lake Mary, the city said in a Facebook post. More details will be announced later.
“Join us for a day of excitement as we celebrate the incredible hard work, dedication and sportsmanship of our young athletes and their coaches. This is an honor not to be missed – be part of this unique community celebration and cheer on our champions!”, says the city.
The Lake Mary All-Stars defeated Texas in a stunning comeback on Saturday to win the US Championship Series and advance to the World Series final against Chinese Taipei on Sunday. In overtime, the Lake Mary All-Stars came back from a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 and become champions of the 2024 Little League World Series.
According to the Associated Press, this is Lake Mary’s first World Series win despite nine previous attempts.
