No. 13 LSU enters the third year of the “Brian Kelly era” with higher expectations for the program than ever before.

“This offseason has probably been one of our best since I’ve been here, just in terms of the work and the guys pushing each other and competing every day,” LSU offensive lineman Campbell said during fall camp. “Everyone here wants to win. It’s year three. It’s time for us to do something instead of just winning 10 games.”

LSU enters the season with a new-look defense under coordinator Blake Baker. After building consistency in the offseason, the unit will look to take the next step in 2024.

“What we need is that complement on defense; we need to defend better this year. I think we made the strides necessary in the offseason to continue that growth,” Kelly said during SEC Media Days. “So again, complementary football, offense and defense. I know that sounds like coach-speak, but the numbers prove it. You can’t have the best offense in the country and not play the type of defense that’s necessary to get to the next level. Honestly, play better defense.”
