A’ja Wilson beats Chennedy Carter with epic winning goal

From the opening tip, it was clear that the Las Vegas Aces and Chicago Sky would give us an incredible show on Sunday afternoon.

And after A’ja Wilson’s emotional halftime interview, the stage was set for Wilson and dynamic Chicago guard Chennedy Carter to bring the event to an epic close.

Let’s move on to the fourth quarter.

The Aces had just built a 73-60 lead that was almost impossible to overcome with less than five minutes to play, but Chicago and Angel Reese – who grabbed at least 20 rebounds for her third straight game – just wouldn’t give up. The Sky stormed and put themselves in a position to equalize the game with their last possession.

The ball was in Chennedy Carter’s hands and she sank an ice-cold three-pointer to tie the game at 75:

But the aces weren’t finished yet.

Las Vegas was on the verge of an epic fourth-quarter collapse and turned to its MVP Wilson with just over a second left in the game. She did not disappoint, scoring the win with an insane buzzer-beater at the basket:

Wilson was overjoyed after the game about her heroic moment:

In a WNBA season that has already produced so many classic moments and thrilling finishes, this may have been the best of them all. And more importantly, it may have been a glimpse of the present (Wilson and the Aces) taking a serious punch on the chin from the future (Carter, Reese and the Sky).

This is how some basketball greats reacted to Wilson’s winning goal on Twitter
