He also noted that it is one of his favorite projects, which is exciting since most of his projects have been critically and box office successes.

Flanagan continued: “Whatever happens to it, it’s such a strange, fragile little animal. I want you to like it, but I think you should check your expectations at the door if you’re expecting anything scary, because you’re going to be very disappointed. But if you are expecting something that is a life-affirming celebration of joy, existence, and mortality, you will be very happy. We have to fly home to LA in two weeks and I don’t know if we’ll unpack because we have to fly back right away. I’ll be wearing this (outfit) the whole time.”
What is “Life of Chuck” about?
The life of Chuck adapts the novella of the same name from the 2020 collection When it bleeds. It follows Charles “Chuck” Krantz as he tells his story in reverse order, from his tragic death at age 39 to his childhood spent in a haunted house. Very few other details have been revealed about the project so far, as it only included a promotional photo showing lead actor Tom Hiddleston as the title character in a corporate outfit and glasses. Flanagan has yet to reveal a trailer for the film or an official release date.
The life of Chuck will star Hiddleston in his first project with the director. However, no fewer than 15 actors will also be returning. Kate Siegel, Heather Langenkamp, Samantha Sloyan, Carl Lumbly, Rahul Kohli, Matt Biedel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Michael Trucco, Molly C. Quinn, Annalise Basso, Violet McGraw, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay and Mark Hamill are all reuniting with Flanagan after previously working together on other projects. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mia Sara, Benjamin Pajak, Taylor Gordon, Matthew Lillard, Antonio Raul Corbo, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss and David Dastmalchian will also be making their Flanaverse debut alongside Hiddleston.
The life of Chuck will premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from September 5 to 15. It is unclear when the film will be released in theaters.
