Mondo Duplantis goes crazy after breaking the pole vault world record again

Mondo Duplantis has done it again.

The Swedish track and field star broke his pole vault world record at the Silesia Diamond League event on Sunday. The 24-year-old surpassed the mark of 6.25 meters he set 20 days ago at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Duplantis surpassed the 6.26m mark on Sunday and immediately went wild, celebrating like crazy. Watch the video below.

Duplantis won the competition, Sam Kendricks from the USA came second with 6.0 meters. Kendricks also won the silver medal behind Duplantis at the 2024 Olympic Games.

This is the tenth time Duplantis has broken the pole vault world record in his career. All records have been set since 2020. His first record was 6.17 meters and he has continued to push the mark higher over the years. Considering he is only 24 years old, we should probably get used to seeing him do it again and again.

Duplantis won gold at both the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics and is considered a big favorite to do so again at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

Due to his charisma and the cheers he received after the jump, Duplantis could compete at the 2028 Olympic Games as one of the most famous faces in athletics.
