Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from royal duties in January 2020, they remain closely connected to the royal family.

Royal expert Jennie Bond recently said OK Magazine, the two main ways in which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to maintain a meaningful connection to royal life.

The expert revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have retained their royal titles. Firstly, they decided to keep their titles because they did not want to deprive their children Archie and Lilibet of their “birthright” to be recognized as prince and princess.

Second, while Meghan Markle largely distances herself from royal duties, Prince Harry continues to participate in “semi-royal” activities.

“If Meghan encourages Harry to put the past behind him and move on, I think that’s a healthy move,” the expert said.

However, she added: “But Harry has said he wants to be reunited with his family, so he will obviously be reflecting on what happened and how this situation came about. And that is probably quite frustrating for Meghan… who seems to have no problem with being estranged from her own family.”
